Moeldoko Ensures VinFast Will Become A New Member Of Periclindo
JAKARTA - Has been established since 2021, the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (PERIKLINDO) is an association formed in order to realize, develop, and become a strategic partner of the government in the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.
There are a number of companies that have committed to becoming members of this association, such as ABC Lithium, Birubatt, Fast, Keeway, MAB, Motoriz, Neta, Seres, and Wuling. However, there is a possibility that the number of memberships will increase.
The Presidential Chief of Staff of the Republic of Indonesia and the General Chair of PERIKLINDO Moeldoko, confirmed that the automotive brand from Vietnam, VinFast, will join the institution and be committed to building an environmentally friendly ecosystem in Indonesia.
"There is still something to add, including VinFast, who will build a factory in Indonesia," Moeldoko told the media, at the opening of the 2024 Periclindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) exhibition, Tuesday, April 30.
Although he is just planning to build a factory, Moeldoko ensures VinFast will officially join PERIKLINDO in the near future.
"They have also opened several outlets such as dealers, so they will join in some time," explained Moeldoko.

The manufacturer, which was founded in 2017, has confirmed that it will disburse funds of up to Rp. 18 billion in Indonesia, including building a new manufacturing factory, located in Batang, Central Java. In fact, recently officially opened its first dealer network located in Depok, West Java.
VinFast has marketed one of its vehicles, VF e34 for the Indonesian market. This crossover is priced starting from IDR 315 million on The Road DKI Jakarta, but does not include batteries in the country.
Manufacturers implement a battery rental system in this model in Indonesia at costs ranging from IDR 1.5 million per month to cover a distance of up to 3,000 km and IDR 2.6 million for a distance of more than 3,000 km.
