JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC), the Ministry of Finance, stated that it would evaluate and improve the process of importing shipments in the future.
"We continue to strengthen future improvements," said Director General of Customs and Excise Askolani quoting Antara.
He said the process of importing shipments did not only involve one party, but also involved other parties such as the deposit service company (PJT) and business actors.
Therefore, DJBC will educate the parties involved as well as strengthen communication.
DJBC has also actively provided socialization and education to the public regarding the import procedure for shipping goods.
Even so, DJBC is also aware that the efforts that have been made have not reached the community massively, causing the importers to still experience problems.
Therefore, DJBC will increase efforts to carry out education to the public regarding customs procedures.
Askolani ensured that all customs components cooperated simultaneously. This statement dismissed allegations that Customs and Excise had only handled problems when the problem went viral.
"There is no (the accusation). We all walk," he said.

Previously, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati asked Customs and Excise to continue to improve services and proactively provide education to the public about policies from various ministries/agencies (K/L) that must be carried out by Customs and Excise according to the mandate of the Law (UU), namely as a border protection, revenue collector, trade facility, and industrial assistance.
