Cleaning Man In Banjarmasin Arrested After Drug Transactions

The Banjarmasin Police Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) arrested two men with the initials AM (39) who work as a janitor and a laborer with the initials AP (39) after transacting the sale and purchase of methamphetamine.

"From the results of our interrogation of the two perpetrators, it was known that AM was a buyer of methamphetamine and AP as a seller," said Head of the Banjarmasin Police Narcotics Unit, Kompol Bala P Dewa, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 29.

Bala said officers arrested the two perpetrators on Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 5 Pemurus Baru Village, South Banjarmasin District on Tuesday (23/4) afternoon at around 15.30 WITA.

AM, who works as a janitor for the complex, has its address at Jalan Sei Miai in Sei Miai Village, North Banjarmasin District, while AP is a worker from Jalan Kelayan B, Kelayan Tengah Village, South Banjarmasin District.

Bala also said that the suspect AM bought two packages of crystal methamphetamine from AP with a total net weight of 4.96 grams for Rp5,500,000.

"When we made the arrest, evidence was found of two packages of methamphetamine and some money allegedly the result of drug transactions," he said.

Bala said the two suspects and evidence were secured at the Banjarmasin Police Station to undergo further investigation.

The results of the investigation, AM and AP admitted that the methamphetamine evidence was the result of a sale and purchase transaction.

Now, AM and AP are charged with Article 114 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"We ask for support and appeal to the public to provide information if they know of drug trafficking and every information that comes in is immediately followed up," said Bala.
