Denies Relations Between Leaders And Heating Councils Impact Of Ghufron's Report, KPK: This Is Mutual Control
JAKARTA - Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri denied the relationship between the leadership and the KPK Supervisory Board heated up after KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron reported Albertina Ho, who is a member of the council to the KPK Council. He said this kind of report was actually a form of control.
"Indeed, this is how to control each other," Ali told reporters quoted on Monday, April 29.
Ali was confused if there were parties who accused the condition between the five leaders and the supervisory board of heating up after the report. "What kind of understanding of fighting is it? But what we understand is not fighting," he said.
Meanwhile, Ghufron reported that he was suspected of abusing his authority after coordinating with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) to ask for an odd transaction report from a prosecutor with the initials IT. This step was taken because the KPK Council handled the alleged violation of extortion ethics against witnesses of up to Rp. 3 billion.
"Differences in perceptions, different interpretations, different understandings are normal things," said the spokesman with the prosecutor's background.
As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, reported one member of the supervisory board to the KPK Supervisory Board. He suspects there is abuse of authority.
"As a member of the KPK, I have an obligation as stipulated in Article 4 paragraph (2) letter b of Perdewas No. 3 of 2021 states: in implementing the basic values of integrity, every member of the Commission is obliged to report if they know of any alleged ethical violations committed by the Commission Personnel," said Nurul Ghufron to reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, April 24.
Ghufron said the alleged abuse of authority reported was in the form of a request for the results of the analysis of financial transactions of anti-corruption commission employees. He said the KPK Council was not authorized because it was not law enforcement officials.
In addition, Ghufron also sued the KPK Supervisory Board to the State Administrative Court (PTUN). All processes carried out are his personal decisions, not based on the direction of the leadership, said KPK Temporary Chair Nawawi Pomolango.
