Ministry Of Industry Facilitates National Medical Devices Industry To Appear In Turkey, Aims For European Markets

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) through the EXPOMED EUROSIA 2024 event which was held in Istanbul, Turkey, on April 25-27, 2024, facilitated the promotion of nine domestic medical device industries (alkes) to enter the European market.

Special Staff to the Minister of Industry and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry Febri Hendri Antoni Arif said Indonesia's participation in the event was a form of cooperation between his party and the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara. Thus, it can present the Indonesian Pavilion.

"The presence of the Ministry of Industry at the international event aims to introduce the potential of the medical device industry in Indonesia as part of efforts to penetrate the international market, especially the European market through Turkey as its liaison," said Febri in a written statement, Monday, April 29.

A total of nine national medical equipment companies that participated in the event, namely PT Sugih Instrumendo Abadi, PT Marthys Orthopaedic Indonesia and PT Rejeki Putra Putri Eliman.

Then, PT Cahaya Berhasil Cemerlang Multi Manufacturing, PT Haloni Jane Tbk, PT Oneject Indonesia, PT Prodia Diagnostic Line, PT Graha Teknomedika and PT Kusuma Sukses Makmur.

In addition, participating in the Association of Indonesian Medical Device Manufacturers (ASPAKI) and the Association of Medical and Laboratory Equipment Entrepreneurs (GAKESLAB).

According to Febri, domestic medical device products already have the quality and specifications needed by global consumers. Therefore, he hopes that the 2024 EXPOMED EUROSIA exhibition can be a means to attract investment to Indonesia.

"This exhibition has the potential to increase market access for medical device products. Given that Turkey is an economic and trade hub country between Europe and Asia, even Africa," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Ministry of Industry's Agricultural Machinery and Machinery Industry, Yan Sibarang Tandiele, said that Indonesia's participation in the 2024 EXPOMED EUROSIA event was very important to form an industrial ecosystem.

"Through Indonesia's participation, it is hoped that we can welcome the potential for collaboration with various international partners," he said.

The EXPOMED EUROSIA 2024 which will be held at the T\"ayap Fair Convention and Congress Center, Istanbul, Turkey is a special exhibition in the field of medical equipment, medical supplies and the most important medical care in the Eurasian region.

There are about 700 participants from 16 countries who attended this year's implementation, with a target of more than 20,000 visitors.

In the exhibition, there are more than 1,000 brands displayed in various categories, such as electromedical equipment and technology, physical rehabilitation orthopedic-therapy, consumable and disposable products, hospital management and medical facilities and products that are sold freely.
