DHF In Bogor City Reaches 1,749 Cases, Death Toll Reaches 11 People
BOGOR - Throughout 2024 reports of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in Bogor City have jumped sharply. There were more than 1,700 case reports recorded until the end of April 2024.
Head of the Bogor City Health Office (Dinkes), Sri Nowo Retno, revealed that based on the data they obtained, there were 1749 reports of dengue cases from January to April 26, 2024. A total of 11 of them died.
When compared to the previous 3 years' data, the increase in the number of dengue cases in 2024 was very significant. Throughout 2023, there were only 1474 dengue cases (9 deaths).
Meanwhile, in 2022 there were 1531 cases (9 deaths) and in 2021 there were 526 cases (7 deaths).
"The distribution of dengue cases in 2024 based on age in Bogor City is mostly at the age of 5-14 years as many as 553 cases and the distribution of death cases due to dengue fever in 2024 based on age, namely at the age of 5-14 years as many as 4 people," explained Retno., Sunday 28 April
There are 5 urban villages with a significant increase in dengue cases, namely Kedung Badak Village with 40 cases, Gang Kelor Village with 25 cases, Mekarwangi Village with 24 cases, Kayu Manis Village with 22 cases, and Sindang Barang Village with 20 cases.
Retno said that his party had made a number of efforts to deal with the phenomenon of increasing dengue cases. For example, by carrying out the activities of the Simultaneous Movement (GERTAK) for the Eradication of Mosquito Nests (PSN) in 68 Kelurahan on February 25, 2024.
The PSN Gertak activity is carried out continuously supported by stakeholders in the region. The PSN clashes were also carried out in 235 schools throughout the city of Bogor with Forkopimda on April 1, 2024," he explained.
The participation of the community in efforts to control the Aedes aegypti mosquito vector is also carried out by the Bogor City Health Office through the 1st Movement of House 1 Jumantik (G1R1J). In this program, PSN activities are carried out independently once a week.
Controlling the Aedes aegypti mosquito vector is also carried out chemically by carrying out fogging focus activities on indications, biologically with Biolarvasida (Jatik Pemakan Bacteri), and physically with PSN Aedes aegypti.

He appealed to the public to promote 3M Plus behavior in handling this spike in dengue cases.
The behaviors that need to be done include draining and cleaning water reservoirs regularly, closing water reservoirs tightly, and recycling or utilizing items that can hold rainwater.

To prevent bites and breeding of mosquitoes, Retno advised people to raise fish, plant mosquito expulsion plants, sleep with mosquito nets, put the squares in the ventilation.
