Sukabumi DPUTR: Weather Factors Become Road Repair Constraints
SUKABUMI - Public Works and Spatial Planning (DPUTR) Sukabumi City, West Java, said that weather factors are one of the obstacles in road repair programs at several points in this area."This year there are 24 roads that have been budgeted from the Sukabumi City Regional Budget to be repaired. However, only four roads have been repaired," said DPUTR Road and Bridge Technical Functional Officer Asep Supriyadi in Sukabumi, Antara, Sunday, April 28.According to Asep, there are several locations where road repairs will be carried out in the near future, including Jalan Sawahbera and Cikareo in Warudoyong District, Jalan Prana in Cikole District, Jalan Puri Cibeureum I and II and Lamping in Cibeureum District.He admitted that the repair of this road was slightly delayed due to weather problems because it was known that heavy rain fell almost every day. If the work is forced, worry that it will not be maximized and the road will be damaged more quickly.However, his party is optimistic that the road repair target can be completed by the end of the year. Therefore, the current repair has started and asked contractors to pay attention to the quality of the work, specifications, and work time." Road improvement is our main focus so that people are comfortable and minimize traffic accidents due to damaged road conditions," he added.Asep said that of the 154 roads with a length of 117.796 kilometers that are under the authority of the Sukabumi City Government, about 86.87 percent or 102.376 km are in good condition and the remaining 15 kilometers or 13 percent require treatment or repair.
On the other hand, in 2023 the number of repaired roads will be 44 points. However, in 2024 the number of repaired roads will decrease because the year the road is damaged or requires reduced maintenance. In this case, his party targets all roads under the authority of the Sukabumi City Government to be in good condition or stable condition.
