During 14 Days Garut Has Natural Disaster Emergency Response Status
GARUT - The Government of Garut Regency, West Java, has established an emergency response status for natural disasters with a magnitude of 6.2 for 14 days to pay special attention in tackling affected areas."Today we have also set an emergency response," said Garut Regency Government Regional Secretary Nurdin Yana to reporters in Garut, Antara, Sunday, April 28.The determination of the disaster emergency response status coincided with other natural disasters in Garut such as landslides in Banjarwangi District, as well as ground moving in Pakenjeng District and Cisompet District.Furthermore, with the earthquake disaster, he said, Garut was declared to be a disaster emergency response for the next 14 days starting April 26, 2024."Our emergency response is in 14 days, yesterday it was the 26th to 14th days that we will determine," he said.He explained that the natural disaster occurred in the previous three regions, and currently there is another earthquake natural disaster that causes damage in a number of areas, so the local government will carry out overall countermeasures."So today's statement has been 'include', so it's no longer a new statement, but this is an accumulation from yesterday that has been determined," he said.He said the status determination was the basis for regulations for local governments in tackling and disbursing budgets from unexpected costs (BTT) for natural disasters."Today, to be related to the'recovery' process for the condition of the community, then we can use BTT funds," he said.He added that all ranks of the Garut Regency Government and other elements from various agencies had moved to deal with areas affected by the earthquake in Garut.The results of data collection in the field, he said, there were damaged houses with categories of minor, moderate, and severe damage, then public facilities such as hospitals in Pameungpeuk, educational facilities and BRI offices were also damaged."So some houses have categories that are heavily damaged, then moderate, and some are lightly being investigated, today we have assessed," he said.He emphasized that the earthquake in the southwest that occurred on Saturday (27/4) at midnight only caused damage and a number of residents were injured, and it was confirmed that there were no casualties.
