Beating Palace 4-1, Tottenham Records 3 Consecutive Victories And Jump To 6th Position

JAKARTA - Harry Kane and Gareth Bale both scored two goals when helping Tottenham Hotspur beat Crystal Palace 4-1 in Week 27 of the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Monday morning.

This result continues Tottenham's positive trend, which has now recorded three consecutive wins and jumped to sixth place in the standings with a collection of 45 points, while Palace did not move from 13th with 34 points.

As reported by Antara, Tottenham played aggressively from the start and Bale showed skill past Patrick van Aanholt and Eberechi Eze before sending a measured cross towards Son Heung-min, unfortunately, the South Korean attacker's heading was aimed right into the arms of goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.

Jose Mourinho's team finally opened the scoring in the 25th minute after Bale netted the ball into an unguarded goal because Guaita was already hooked to covering Kane's shooting space.

The lead was almost doubled in the 38th minute, when Bale's cross was met by Sergio Reguilon's volley, which unfortunately still narrowed the mark.

In the first minute of first-half injury time, Palace just managed to equalize when Christian Benteke jumped the highest to meet Luka Milivojevic's cross that he threw into the host's goal.

Four minutes into the second half, Bale scored his second goal to restore Tottenham's lead, again finishing Kane's pass.

Then in the 52nd minute, it was Kane's turn to break into Palace's goal with his first touch shot when receiving Matt Doherty's pass in order to increase Tottenham's lead to 3-1.

Tottenham continued to press and Reguilon again wasted an opportunity in the 58th minute which this time only hit the net outside Palace's goal.

On the other hand, Palace still looked dangerous every time they launched an attack, unfortunately, Wilfried Zaha's opportunity, which was beyond the reach of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, actually hit the post in the 69th minute.

Seven minutes later, it was Tottenham who managed to add to the margin after Kane headed in Son's volley to complete his streak to two goals and two assists.

Palace will play early for their next fixture at home to West Bromwich Albion at Selhurst Park on Saturday, the day before Tottenham visits Arsenal.

But before concentrating on the second edition of the North London derby this season, Tottenham will first appear in the first leg of the Europa League last 16 against Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb.
