IKN Authority: Startup Support Facility Built At IKN

The Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) is launching the construction of a research center and startup campus as a pairing place between the government, industry and educational institutions entitled Nusantara Knowledge Hub or K-Hub.

"There is already Stanford University who will participate. Seven large national campuses have also conducted an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the IKN Authority in the context of developing research at IKN," said Deputy for Green Transformation and Digital OIKN, Prof. Mohammed Ali Berawi, in his statement in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA.

Ali further said that more than 40 global technology companies and industry players have expressed interest in participating in the development of IKN.

"This is a potential for the development of Nusantara K-Hub as a center of sustainable knowledge and technology, such as Station-F in Paris, France, and Newlab in New York, United States," he said.

Ali revealed that IKN will become a living lab or live laboratory for technology development, where research and innovation will become one of the future economic generators.

To make this happen, the IKN Authority developed the Nusantara Knowledge Hub (K-Hub), a consortium consisting of the government, industry, as well as educational institutions and research centers.

At the sixth groundbreaking, it is planned to build educational facilities and research centers at IKN, including schools, universities, and research centers involving the Stanford Doer School of Sustainability with Pertamina and Bakrie & Brothers.

"Nusantara K-Hub, like Newlab in New York and Station-F in Paris, is the government's effort to develop the latest knowledge and technology and facilitate startups."

"Through the Nusantara K-Hub, OIKN invites industry, startups, as well as educational and technology institutions to develop brainware, improve human resource competence and business performance in Indonesia," said Ali.
