WIKA Calls Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Progress Section 3 Capai 50.1 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) is focusing on completing the construction of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road section 3 phase 1 Cileles-Panimbang through a consortium scheme, which WIKA is involved in.

In the construction of this project, WIKA has a scope of work on Jalan Rangkasbitung-Simpang Susun Bojong, with work that includes construction of 3.72 kilometers (km) of roads and bridges.

WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito said that currently the construction has recorded a progress of 50.1 percent.

Agung assessed that as one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) carried out, the Serang Panimbang Toll Road Project Section 3 phase I became one of the projects its implementation was encouraged.

"So, our hope will be completed this year," said Agung, quoted from the official website of WIKA, Saturday, April 27.

Later, the construction of the section will help increase the number of vehicles on the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road managed by WIKA Serang Panimbang as a Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT).

He explained that Section 3 itself is the last section of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Project which is carried out to support access to the Banten tourism area and its surroundings by shortening the travel time of DKI Jakarta-Tanjung Lesung from 4 hours to 2.5 hours.

"The existence of this toll road will contribute to the economic development of the community, especially the Central and South Banten areas," he said.

In addition, Agung said that Section 3 itself is the last section of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Project which is carried out to support access to the Banten tourism area and can shorten the travel time of DKI Jakarta-Tanjung Lesung from 4 hours to 2.5 hours.

"The existence of this toll road will contribute to the economic development of the community, especially the Central and South Banten areas," he said.

In addition, WIKA is also working on Section 2 of 24.17 km Rangkas Bitung-Cileles next to Section I which is currently operating.

"Development in the two sections has made a positive contribution, including through the absorption of construction workers around 1,300 people as well as spending on MSME project partners worth approximately Rp. 1 trillion," he added.
