Mini Bus Dragged By Landslide Enters Abyss In Bengkulu Lebong

BENGKULU - Landslides in the Rimbo Pengadang Village area have closed access to the Curup-Muara Aman Cross Road in Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province.

The Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Lebong Regency, Tantomi, said the landslide occurred at around 13.00 WIB after heavy rain.

"Currently, two units of heavy equipment belonging to the Lebong Regency Government and another unit of assistance from the Rejang Lebong Regency Government have been deployed to get rid of landslide material," he said when contacted in Lebong, Friday, April 26, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that this landslide occurred at two points on the connecting road between Rejang Lebong Regency and Lebong. One point in Rimbo Pengadang Village and the other in Talang Ratu Village, Rimbo Pengadang District.

"For the incident in Talang Ratu Village in the form of collapsed roads and landslides. This has happened since the flash flood on April 16, 2024 and now it has collapsed again. Residents who pass are vigilant," he explained.

According to Bobby (30), a resident of Rimbo Pengadang Village, in that incident there was a car that was dragged by a landslide, but the driver managed to save himself.

"This car belongs to residents of Lebong Regency. The driver managed to save himself and was immediately rushed by residents to the Rimbo Pengadang Health Center," said Bobby.

As of Friday night at 19.00 WIB, the Curup-Muara Aman Cross Road could not be passed, causing traffic jams of up to 2 km from both directions.
