Long Awaited, MG Cyberster Now Can Be Ordered By The British Public

JAKARTA - The MG automotive manufacturer has finally announced the price and opened an order for the long-awaited electric sports car, the MG Cyberster for the British market.

Previously, this electric roadster made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2023.

In England, reported by Autocar, April 26, MG Cyberster comes in two variants: Trophy and GT. Both are equipped with 77kWh batteries, but the power and range are different depending on the variant.

The Trophy variant or entry-level has a single electric motor that drives the rear wheel with 335 hp power, and 0-97 km/hour acceleration can be achieved in 5.0 seconds. The battery distance is 508 km.

Meanwhile, the dual-engine GT has 496 hp on its four wheels, and is capable of reaching acceleration 0-97 km/hour in 3.2 seconds with a shorter battery range of about 444 km.

All Cyberster variants are equipped with customizable driving mode, a manned seat and can be arranged in six directions, a heated steering wheel, and an adaptive regenerative braking.

Other standard features include Brembo brakes, 19-inch rims, a 10.25-inch main touch screen combined with two additional 7.0-inch displays, dual zone climate control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 360-degree parking camera, and eight-speaker Bose audio system.

The Cyberster also has a trunk with a capacity of 249 liters and supports fast charging of up to 150 kW, which can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 38 minutes.

Cyberster became the first new sports car to carry an iconic octagonal MG emblem since MG F in 1995. Not only that, but Cyberster is also the MG car with the most fierce engine performance ever produced.

This Chinese manufacturer claims Cyberster as the world's first "affordable" electric roadster car while offering a much more competitive price than other electric sports cars.

This car starts at 54,995 pounds (around Rp1.1 billion) in the UK and is scheduled for delivery in August. Obviously, the price is more expensive than in the Chinese market which starts at 319,900 yuan to 359,800 yuan or equivalent to Rp716 million to Rp805 million. Meanwhile, in Thailand, the price is the same as the UK market, which starts at 2,499,000 baht or the equivalent of Rp1 billion.
