Jokowi Receives A Visit From The Singaporean Foreign Minister To Discuss Indonesia's 2024 Leaders' Retreat

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo received an honorary visit from Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Baskrishnan to discuss the preparations for the Leaders' Retreat in which Indonesia hosted this year.

Foreign Minister Vivian and her assistant arrived at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta at around 09.26 WIB, to then meet President Jokowi.

"We carried out Leaders' Retreat alternately and this year is the year Indonesia will host," said Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi when giving a press statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA Friday, April 26.

The Leaders' Retreat is an agenda meeting between President Joko Widodo and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong which will be held at the Bogor Palace on Monday, April 29, 2024.

Retno explained that during the meeting, Foreign Minister Vivian discussed PM Lee's visit to Indonesia in the Leaders' Retreat being her last visit before she handed over the government to the new PM.

According to Plan, Deputy Prime Minister (Deputy Prime Minister) Lawrence Wong, who continued the country's government, was also present at the Leaders' Retreat.

"This shows how important bilateral relations between Singapore and Indonesia are," said Retno.

As for the leadership meeting later, the two leaders will examine the 10 years of cooperation that have been carried out, but at the same time also ensure that the cooperation and continuity of good relations between the two countries continues.

One of the emphasized strategic collaborations is the development of human resources through skill development, the exchange of talents in the digital field, as well as increasing the capacity of the health sector.
