Sri Mulyani Hopes Kartini's Thoughts And Principles Of Struggle Need To Be Continued

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati hopes that Kartini's struggles, thoughts and principles of Raden Ajeng (RA) will continue and be applied according to conditions every time.

"Because the civilization of a nation will determine the progress and education of women," said Sri Mulyani at the Kartini Talkshow on the Limit Towards an Inclusive Economy held by the Ministry of Finance at the AA Maramis Building, Jakarta, Thursday, April 25.

Sri Mulyani Indrawati expressed her admiration for Kartini's way of thinking about the importance of giving women space to be broad-minded, and having equal rights to men.

Because, according to Kartini, women are the first school for every human child on this earth. So, the woman must be given space to strengthen her insight as the first educator of human children.

"I am very amazed how there can be such extraordinary thoughts, not only brilliant, passion, but also being able to find aspects of what are called fair and civilized humane values of Kartini," he said.

According to Sri Mulyani Kartini's statement is not strange because women are created to contain and every child will be taught by their mother in behavior and thinking with direct interaction.

"Men want to be as great as you are not pregnant. So, you never know how to feel raising a fetus in your stomach while educating him, forming a character since he was in the womb," he said.

Therefore, Sri Mulyani assessed that it is important for men to continue to fight for Kartini's thoughts and into matters of managing households.

According to Sri Mulyani, until now there are still men who limit women's activities. However, he considered that the restrictions could be accepted if the results of the mutual agreement were obtained, but if the restrictions were applied based on one direction, then this would not be acceptable.

"If you control each other, it's good, but if one direction is not emancipated. So it means that the limit is you should defend in a many different way, the most important thing is that we feel that we are doing something and choosing something because we both agree, not because one of them enforces his will," he said.

Sri Mulyani emphasized that the statement was not to invite women to rebel against men, but to encourage the importance of two-way communication.

"So I'm not advocating oh we have to always rebellion and a stereotype, not really. Because, every married couple is a unique personality who has to discuss," he said.

Sri Mulyani conveyed that Kartini's thoughts and principles could be a basis for all to lead to an inclusive economy.

"That's what I hope for all of you to get according to the theme, which is to cross the boundary from Kartini and if that is done, then there will be an automatic sentence from the state budget for financial notes and GBHN towards an inclusive economy," he said.

Therefore, Sri Mulyani emphasized that the Ministry of Finance must make people feel the presence of the state.

"If they feel the presence of the state, it means you are also solving women's problems," he said.
