Employees Examined By The Prosecutor's Office Regarding The Tin Corruption Case, Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources: Directorate General Of Mineral And Cooperative Miners
The Attorney General's Office examined three witnesses, one of whom was from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), related to the investigation into the case of alleged corruption in the tin trading system of the Mining Business Permit (IUP) area of PT Timah Tbk from 2015 to 2022.
Responding to this, the Head of the Communication and Public Information Service Bureau and the Cooperation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Agus Cahyono Adi, confirmed that in the span of April 19 to 23, 2024, investigators from the Special Investigation Unit of the Attorney General's Office had come to the Directorate General of Mineral and Coordinates and asked for information regarding the case at PT Timah.
"Furthermore, 13 Mining Inspectors in representatives of Bangka Belitung Province and 1 marketing subcoror of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal have also been summoned for questioning as witnesses at the AGO," Agus told reporters, Thursday, April 25.
Agus explained that during the examination, the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) was committed to cooperation during the examination process.
"The Directorate General of Mineral and Coal will cooperate with the APH from the Pidsus of the Attorney General's Office to uncover cases of violations of the law at PT Timah by upholding the legal principle of presumption of innocence in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," concluded Agus.

Previously, the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) Ketut Sumedana said that the witness was examined with the initials BE, as the Sub-Coordinator of Marketing at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Apart from BE, the investigating prosecutor also examined two other witnesses with the initials FA and TM as the Mining Inspectorate.
"The three witnesses were examined in connection with the investigation of the case to strengthen the evidence and complete the filing in the case," said Ketut.
