History Of Khitan Prophet Ibrahim And Sunat Orders For Muslim Men
YOGYAKARTA - Muslim men are required to end when they are old. Khitan is a process of cutting the skin that covers part of the male genitals. Apart from being a religious Shari'a, the end is also beneficial for health.
Maybe you are wondering when the tradition of ending will be followed and become an obligation for Muslim men? Khitan has become a Shari'a long before the Prophet Muhammad SAW was born on earth. There is a history that mentions that the ritual of ending has started since the era of Prophet Ibrahim.
Prophet Ibrahim became one of the envoys of Allah SWT who was given the Shari'a to carry out circumcision or punishment. So what is the history of the end of Prophet Ibrahim and how do you recommend serving the sentence for Muslims?
Prophet Ibrahim is known as Khalilullah which means Sahabat Allah. He is one of the prophets who has an important role in the history of Islam. In addition to teaching sacrificial worship, Prophet Ibrahim was also given the Shari'a to commit a final which eventually became an obligation for male Muslims.
The history of the end of Prophet Ibrahim is narrated in a hadith told by Abu Hurairah, as follows:
"Nabi Ibrahim is the first person to wear trousers, clean dirty hair, shave his pubic hair, and the first person to do akhitan with a qadum when he was 80 years old. He is known as the first person to host guests and the person whose hair was gray for the first time." (HR Ibnu Hibban).
Prophet Ibrahim as the first man to undergo khitan is also narrated in the book Mughni Al-Muhtaj, as follows:
He carried out the final when he was old. In a hadith, Rasulullah SAW said, "Nabi Ibrahim carried out the sentence when he was 80 years old using an ax". (HR. Imam Bukhari).
As told in hadiths, Prophet Ibrahim used a qadum' for khitan or cutting or cutting the skin (quluf) covering the genitals. So what does this qadum look like?
In the book Kisah Para Nabi written by Imam Ibnu Katsir, a number of opinions state that qadum is a tool in the form of an ax used by a carpenter. However, there are also those who say qadum is the name of a place where Prophet Ibrahim is circumcised.
The khitan order does not only stop at Prophet Ibrahim. Allah SWT also ordered the sentence for Prophet Ismail the son of Ibrahim and all his servants. If Prophet Ibrahim had just passed the sentence at dusk, Ismail was circumcised when he was 13 years old.

As explained above, carrying out the final is an order from Allah SWT which was first broadcast to Prophet Ibrahim. This circumcision ritual was then continued until the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
In the Qur'an letter An-Nahl paragraph 123, it contains an order for Muslims to follow the guidance of the Prophet Ibrahim AS ritual. The following reads the verse:
You can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't.
Meaning: "Then we will reveal to you (Muhammad), Follow the religion of Ibrahim who is hanif and not him is one of those who reject God."
The purpose of following the religious recommendations of Prophet Ibrahim in this verse is to carry out all his teachings, including doing saktan. This verse is the basis for circumcision for Muslim men who have retired.
This teaching is also related to the passing orders for the Prophet Muhammad SAW in particular, which are mentioned in a number of nash syar'i. The following is one of the hadiths who conveyed the teachings:
You can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't.
Meaning: From Abu Hurairah r.a., he said that Rasulullah SAW said, "Five from fitrah: cutting pubic hair, ending, cutting a mustache, removing armpit hair, and cutting nails." (HR Jama'ah).
