After Android, WhatsApp Launches Verification Of Password Locks For IOS Users

JAKARTA - WhatsApp is starting to introduce support for password key verification on iOS, after six months ago it was first introduced for WhatsApp applications on Android.

The company announced in an email on Wednesday that the feature is starting to roll out now and will be available to all iOS users in the coming weeks.

"Verification of the password will make re-entry to WhatsApp easier and safer. We are excited to launch this on WhatsApp and provide additional security layers to users," said WhatApp head of product Alice Newton-Rex, in an emailed statement.

So, when this password is enabled, iOS users can re-enter their accounts using password key verification via facial recognition, biometrics, or PIN stored in Apple password managers.

Logins with this password will also make it difficult for criminals to access your account remotely, as they also need physical access to connected phones.

WhatsApp users can enable password key verification by logging in to their app settings, navigating to the Account option, and clicking the new Password' button to set the verification method.
