EU Requires Companies To Improve Devices After The Guarantee Period Ends
JAKARTA The European Union (EU) made new rules regarding device repair rights after the warranty period ended. This rule encourages the public to repair damaged devices, not replace them. In the regulation, it is written that the company must extend the product guarantee period for one year after the product is repaired. This means that users do not need to spend additional costs to extend the warranty period. This rule applies to various technologies, such as smart phones, smart television, washing machines, dust suction, and various other technologies. All household products can claim this guarantee as long as the product is an electronic tool. In addition to requiring the company to extend the warranty period after repairs, new rules are also applied to the regular warranty period. If a product is damaged while warranty is still in effect, consumers are entitled to choose replacement or product repairs.
