Windows 11 Stops Working On Old Model CPUs
JAKARTA The higher the window version used, the system needed must be even more new. Although Windows 11 is more compatible for new devices, there are ways to download it on older devices. Unfortunately, some personal computer (PC) with older model processors will no longer be compatible with Windows 11. The reason is, Microsoft has updated CPU instructions for the operating system (OS). Microsoft added POPCNT CPU instructions in Windows 11 in February. The instruction was seen in the Windows 11 testing version, but Microsoft never explained whether the instruction was intentionally added or only tested for a moment. However, How to Geek found that Windows 11 Build 26080 and later couldn't boost if the processor didn't support the POPCNT CPU. This reboot loop problem shows that Microsoft is deliberately replacing compatible CPU instructions.
