Stimulating Export Contribution, Kemenperin Boyong 12 Alsintan Industry To Morocco

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) facilitates as many as 12 domestic agricultural equipment and machinery industries (alsintan) to participate in the prestigious Saron International de l'Agriculture au Maroc (SIM) Meknes 16 which was held at Meknes, Morocco, on April 22-28, 2024.

The exhibition has the potential to increase market access for local alsintan products, considering that Morocco is an economic hub country in Africa and is one of the trade gates with Europe.

"Our presence at the 16th SIAM Meknes also aims to introduce the capabilities of the agricultural machine industry in Indonesia as well as encourage non-traditional market penetration in order to increase market access and domestic industrial business networks with global industries, especially agricultural tools and machinery in Africa and Europe," said Secretary of the Directorate General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) Sopar Halomoan Sirait in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, April 24.

Indonesia's participation in SIAM Meknes is a collaboration between the Ministry of Industry and the Indonesian Embassy in order to present the Indonesian Pavilion to display the superiority of Indonesian alsintan products that are already able to be globally competitive.

The 12 participants who have passed the curation process, namely PT Golden Agin Nusa, PT CBA, PT Indobaja Prima Murni, PT D-Prix, PT Thanks to Machine Iman, PT Star Metal, PT Liga Landak Makmur, GENPRO, PT Cipta Agri Nusantara, PT Phonna Raya, PT Baha Jaya Sejahtera and CV Mandiri Garlica Pratama.

Sopar said that facilitation of the participation of the national industry in the 16th SIAM Meknes was one of the programs initiated by the Ministry of Industry to support one of the 2020-2024 RPJMN targets in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 18 of 2020, namely the contribution of exports of high-tech industrial products which is targeted to reach 13 percent by 2024.

"The strategy of increasing exports of goods and services in the manufacturing industry sector will be supported by revitalization of the processing industry which encourages diversification of non-commodity export products, especially high-tech manufacturing products," he said.

He is optimistic that Indonesia's participation in the 16th SIAM Meknes will also increase its significant contribution to the growth and export performance of the ILMATE sector. In fact, facilitation and industrial participation in the promotion of ILMATE product capabilities in the international arena is expected to be one of the efforts to increase the competitiveness of the ILMATE sector.

"Indonesia's participation in this event is very important in establishing an industrial ecosystem. With Indonesia's participation, it is hoped that we can welcome the potential for collaboration with various international partners, both in the form of increasing market access, investment, human resource development, R&D, and other areas of cooperation in the African and European Regions," he added.

Sopar also expressed his appreciation to the Indonesian Embassy for its support in building the Indonesian Pavilion at SIAM Meknes 2024. Based on the assessment of the organizers of SIAM Meknes 2024, the Indonesian Pavilion was declared one of the best international pavilions because of its unique design by adapting the concept of IKN development.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Rabat is consistent in promoting Indonesia's best products and commodities in Morocco and is always ready to collaborate to facilitate partnerships and cooperation between the government and the business world in order to increase market access to non-traditional countries in the African region.

"SIAM Meknes is one of the largest industrial exhibitions in the African region, especially in the agricultural sector, both agricultural products and agricultural machinery," said Indonesian Ambassador in Rabat, Morocco, Hasrul Azwar.

Hasrul hopes that the participation of 12 national companies in SIAM Meknes 2024 can increase Indonesia's economic and trade cooperation with Morocco in the future. Moreover, the 16th SIAM Meknes will be attended by 1500 participants from 70 countries, with a target of more than 950,000 visitors. In order to improve cooperation between participants, more than 40 conferences and business matching will also be held.

At the SIAM Meknes 2024 exhibition, the Ministry of Industry together with the Indonesian Embassy in Rabat also initiated the implementation of the Business Forum which brought together industry players from the two countries, especially those engaged in agricultural equipment and machinery and agriculture, with potential buyers from Morocco and other African countries.

The activity will be held on April 24, 2024 in Casablanca, Morocco, as the central city of Morocco's economic and trade growth. In this business forum, it presents representatives from the Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture, representatives of the La Confederation Generale des enterprises du Maroc (CGEM) as the association that houses Morocco's entrepreneurs, the Association of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Companies (Alsintani), and PT. Golden Agin Nusa as speakers.

"It is hoped that the business forum can open up interactions between Indonesian business actors and Morocco, and further create and create mutually beneficial cooperation between the two parties," concluded Sopar.
