Viral! Foreigners Don't Wear Masks In Citilink's Cabin, The Explanation Of The Official Airline

JAKARTA - Many photos are circulating in cyberspace of several foreign passengers who are not wearing masks in the cabin of the plane, which allegedly happened on the Citilink Airline. The information was first shared by Kelli Swazey's Twitter account @KSwazey on Saturday, March 6 at around 11.00 WIB.

In her upload, she said that some people with the stature of foreign nationals appeared not to comply with health protocols as required by the government in every flight activity.

"Once again flying from Bali, once again foreigners are free and allowed to enter the plane without masks," she said.

Not only that, but she also said that the crew, especially flight attendants, were deemed not to have reprimanded these negligent passengers.

"The flight attendants are silent and don't say anything to them," she said.

Then, in the next post, Kelli also informed that one aspect of the health protocol, namely maintaining distance, was not followed properly.

"The plane is half full, passengers are forced to sit together in the back row without social distancing. The seats in front remain empty", she added.

Responding to this, Citilink's Vice President Corporate Secretary, Resty Kusandarina spoke up. In her statement, she said that the picture was taken in one of the company's fleets.

"Citilink cabin crew have announced both in Indonesian and English that all passengers are required to wear a mask while on Citilink flights", said Resty to VOI, Saturday, March 6.

"Also, the Citilink cabin crew gave a personal warning to passengers who did not wear a mask", she continued.

Resty also ensured that after sending the warning, the passengers returned to comply with the health protocol standards set by the airline.

"After being reprimanded, the passenger who was not wearing the mask returned to wearing a mask", she said.

Furthermore, she informed the incident occurred on Citilink flight QG 634 from Denpasar to Labuan Bajo which departed from Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar today, Saturday, March 6.

"It can be said that the flight went smoothly and there were no obstacles in arriving at Labuan Bajo", she said.

On this occasion, Resty guaranteed that her party always implements strict health protocols in all operational lines of its flights, from pre-, in-, to post-flight by referring to the health protocol stipulated by the government.

"This is all taken to ensure all flights run optimally while still prioritizing health and safety for all customers", she added.

"Apart from reminding and giving direct warnings to passengers who neglect the use of masks, Citilink cabin crew offers new masks to these passengers if the masks belonging to the passengers are damaged or lost", concluded Resty.
