Anies To Prabowo-Gibran After The Constitutional Court's Decision: Congratulations On Work Raising People's Hopes

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar admitted that they accepted the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which rejected the request for a dispute over the 2024 presidential election.

Anies emphasized that the decision regarding the dispute over the results of the general election (PHPU) today marks that the entire phase of the 2024 presidential election has been passed.

To Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Anies reminded that the two figures who will lead the country have the task of fulfilling people's expectations.

"We convey to Pak Prabowo and Pak Gibran that we are happy to carry out the constitutional mandate, good luck working to fulfill the hopes of the people who are now carried on the shoulders of the two of you," Anies said in a video caption, Monday, April 22.

For Anies, Prabowo is a patriot who since a young age has received modern education and comes from a very respected intellectual family.

Thus, Anies said that Prabowo should understand that in a good democracy, leaders can accept the existence of the opposition as a partner in the state.

In addition, maintaining a balance and independence of three branches of power, namely executive, legislative and judicial. Then, guarantee the freedom of the media as the fourth pillar of democracy.

"And what is no less important is to maintain people's freedom in the voice, in expressing opinions, in association to gather in a democratic process," Anies explained.
