PBNU: Congratulations On Prabowo-Gibran's Task

JAKARTA - The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board congratulated the elected presidential and vice presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

This was conveyed by PBNU after the Constitutional Court (MK) rejected the request for a dispute over General Election Results (PHPU) case on Monday.

"We congratulate the Prabowo-Gibran pair for their victory. We congratulate you on duty," said PBNU Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 22.

Meanwhile, Gus Ipul called on all parties to respect and comply with the decisions that have been taken by the Constitutional Court regarding the 2024 presidential election PHPU dispute.

In addition, Gus Ipul invited all Nahdlatul Ulama residents and all elements of Indonesian society to accept and respect the results of the 2024 presidential election by prioritizing the spirit of the four basic values of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah.

"That's At-Tawesterzun (acting in balance), At-Tawassuth (being moderate), At-Tasaturah (becoming tolerant) and Al-I'tidmen (acting fairly and proportionally)," he said.

Ipul Cave also invites all elements of the nation to end the polemic over the results of the 2024 presidential election and start the ishlah sheet. Thus, he said, the life of the nation and state can run as usual.

Finally, he appealed to all elements involved in holding the presidential election to be able to take lessons from the implementation of this year's elections in order to improve future implementation.

The Constitutional Court, Monday, decided on two cases of the 2024 presidential election dispute filed by Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. The trial for reading the verdict was chaired by the Chairman of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo.

In its ruling, the Constitutional Court rejected all applications submitted by Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Pranowo. According to the Constitutional Court, the requests of the two camps were legally groundless.

Based on this decision, there were different opinions (dissenting opinions) from three Constitutional Justices, namely Saldi Isra, Enny Nurbaningsih, and Arief Hidayat. In essence, the three Constitutional Justices stated that the Constitutional Court should order re-voting in several regions.

As for the petitum, Ganjar-Mahfud and Anies-Muhaimin basically asked the Constitutional Court to cancel the KPU Decree Number 360 of 2024 concerning the determination of the results of the 2024 presidential and vice presidential general elections.

They also asked the Constitutional Court to disqualify the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair as participants in the 2024 presidential election. Then, asked the Constitutional Court to order the KPU to re-vote for the 2024 presidential election without including Prabowo-Gibran.
