Arash Buana Expressing Anxiety Through New Single Titled Friends
JAKARTA - After releasing I Really Do love Her in February, singer and songwriter Arash Buana again introduced a new single titled Friends as a song to go to their new album.
Friends tells the story of a phase where a person enters a phase called quarter life crisis', which Arash Buana also feels himself. He feels lonely, panicked, and questions himself until he realizes that he can make changes.
The song Friends is defined as friendship, friendship, dating or maybe something else. I don't want to feel lonely anymore. That's the main point of this whole song," said Arash Buana in his statement, Sunday, April 21.
In cultivating this folk-pop material, Arash is assisted by Petra Sihombing as a producer, which begins in 2022, before Petra moves to Bali.
This song only goes through workshop sessions twice. The recording results also don't change much from the first demo version made by Arash.
In the intro part of the song, Arash calls John Mayer's songs his inspiration.
He wants the song to have its own identity only from the intro of the song.
"I pay attention to John Mayer's songs and feel I don't have a song with that intro, I don't have a song identity," said Arash.

"I want to make something that looks difficult to play when it's actually easy. Like John Mayer's song Stop This Train or Slow Dancing in a Burning Room," he continued.
Arash berharap lagu barunya ini bisa dilihat sebagai sebuah karya dimana ia mencurahkan seluruh upaya musiknya untuk menghadirkan sesuatu yang baru.
"I don't know if I'll relate to people or not. But what I know is that I just pour out Arash Buana entirely here in the discoveries I've had so far, which are identical to the dictionary according to me to describe the situation and feelings," concluded Arash Buana.
