Evaluation Of Lebaran Homecoming, Moeldoko: Homecoming Rises, Homecoming And Backflows Are Smoother Than Before
JAKARTA - The flow of homecoming and return that occurred during the Eid al-Fitr 2024 holiday has been running quite smoothly even though the number of travelers this year has increased significantly. This was stated by the Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko.
Moeldoko assessed that various steps to anticipate the surge in the number of passengers going home this year were better than the previous year.
"Everything has worked well and seriously, all parties involved have processed very well in supporting the smooth flow of homecoming and Eid homecoming," said Moeldoko while reviewing the KM facility. Kelud at the port of Batu Ampar, Batam, Riau Islands, Friday night (19/4).
The Kelud ship is one of the ships serving the 2024 Free Homecoming program for the Batam-Belawan and Jakarta-Batam routes. The jump of travelers to Batam using a ship had occurred, due to the transfer of the choice of transportation mode by travelers. This transition was allegedly due to the lack of baggage numbers and the high cost of plane tickets to Batam. In addition, the selection of a dock location at the Batu Ampar loading and unloading port was due to the lowest state of the sea trough.
Moeldoko said that improving facilities, both in terms of ship regeneration and improving facilities at the port have become the government's attention. In the midst of a review of the KM Kelud facility, Moeldoko also took the time to talk with ship passengers. "Homecoming with this ship is still very high in demand, the facilities will be evaluated to support the comfort of the community," he said.

For information, PT. The Indonesian National Shipping also improves the service of facilities at the Batu Ampar port, Batam by providing free shuttle buses to take travelers from the transit room to the dock. Especially for KM. Kelud, adjusting to the flow of homecoming and homecoming that is often in demand by travelers, namely Batam-Belawan and vice versa.
