KAI Appreciates Officers' Honesty In Finding Passengers' Goods Worth Hundreds Of Millions

JAKARTA - Semarang Tawang Bank Jateng Station security officer on behalf of Achmad Hidayatul Ikhsan received appreciation from the President Commissioner of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Said Aqil Siroj.

It is known, Achmad managed to find passenger items that were left behind worth hundreds of millions of rupiah at Semarang Tawang Station, Bank Jateng on Sunday, April 7.

Said Aqil in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday said that Achmad's commendable behavior is proof that KAI people have morals, honesty, and trust that can be an example for all other officers in the KAI frontliner ranks.

This trustworthy attitude, he said, should be an inspiration in working, even though a similar experience is not the first at KAI. This proves that in working, KAI people work with their hearts, the fruit of working or leading intuition-based corporations.

"This means that the value of honesty and integrity penetrates every individual KAI personnel in managing corporations. Practices like this must be a role model in all ranks of Daop 4 Semarang and all work units in KAI," said Said Aqil, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, April 20.

Meanwhile, the appreciation activity was carried out symbolically in the VIP Wait Room of Semarang Tawang Station, Central Java Bank on Friday (19/4).

The awarding is also part of the appreciation of the success of the KAI security unit, where during the Eid 2024 transportation period, 315 items of goods have been successfully returned with an estimated value of goods reaching Rp1.1 billion.

"The peak season period, especially at the moment of Eid transportation, has indeed increased the volume of passengers drastically, so we urge customers not to be careless once again. We also remind customers to bring sufficient goods and try to do it in one place, for example a suitcase or backpack," said Said Aqil.

During the period of Eid 2024 transportation for the period March 31, April 19, 2024, KAI has served 3,927,340 long-distance and local train passengers, an increase of 11 percent compared to the 2023 Eid transportation of 3,544,632 people.

Meanwhile, the number of trains serving Eid 2024 transportation, namely 6,826 trains, increased 33 percent compared to Eid 2023 transportation as many as 5,116 trains. Meanwhile, the seating capacity provided by KAI for Eid 2024 transportation, namely 3,319,634 seats, increased 16 percent compared to Eid 2023 transportation.

At this time, KAI noted that there was still a backflow of Lebaran 2024. KAI predicts that the backflow will still last until Sunday, April 21.
