Police Name Suspect In Deadly Accident On Samarinda-Balikpapan Toll Road That Kills Doctor
Samarinda City Police (Polresta) named three suspects for the deadly collision that caused casualties, one of which was to the driver of the Toyota Kijang Innova Reborn minibus in a fatal accident that occurred on the Samarinda-Balikpapan Toll Road.
"The unfortunate incident on the toll road took place on Wednesday (3/4), at around 10:20 WITA at kilometer 77 of the toll road. The minibus with police number KT 1792 YH driven by HL (35), collided with a Hino R10 truck with an N 9618 CL plate," said Samarinda Police Chief Kombes Ary Fadli, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 18.
In this incident, a victim who works as a doctor with the initials YPD (40) died. The victim is a resident of Jakarta who happened to visit East Kalimantan because of a need.
From this incident, the police secured several pieces of evidence, including the two vehicles involved. As a result of this accident, material losses are estimated at Rp200,000,000.
For his negligence, HL was charged with Article 310 Paragraph (4) of Law Number 22 Year 2009 concerning road traffic and transportation, which stated that the negligence of the driver who caused traffic accidents and the death of another person could be sentenced to up to six years in prison.
According to Ary, it is strongly suspected that the accident occurred due to HL who had micro sleep while driving, so that he could not avoid the truck on the left lane in front of him.
From the traffic accident case, the Samarinda Police Chief appealed to drivers to always be vigilant and maintain concentration while driving.
In addition, Ary also named two other traffic accidents that occurred in his jurisdiction. In addition to the accident case on the Samarinda-Balikpapan Toll Road, two other suspects were also named related to the incident on Jalan Poros Samarinda-Bontang and Jalan MT Haryono Samarinda.
"We set RF (24) in the accident on Monday (25/3), at 04.15 WITA on Jalan Poros Samarinda-Bontang to be precise in front of Perum Talangsari Regency, North Samarinda District," said Ary as well.

He said the truck driven by RF hit the car from the opposite direction and then swerved to the right and hit the motorcycle. As a result of this incident, one person died and material losses reached Rp100,000,000.
RF is suspected of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation Article 310 Paragraph (4) and/or 310 Paragraph (3) with a maximum imprisonment of six years and/or a maximum fine of IDR 12,000,000.
"Next, MT (24) was determined, where the incident occurred on Tuesday (26/4), at 09.17 WITA on Jalan MT Haryono Samarinda, precisely in front of the East Kalimantan Provincial BPBD Office," said Ary.
He explained the chronology of the incident where MT was driving hit from behind a motorbike that was stopped and about to turn right. The motorcyclist was then thrown and hit the car from the opposite direction. As a result of this incident, two people died and material losses reached Rp50,000,000.
The articles alleged to MT are Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation Article 310 Paragraph (4) and Article 310 Paragraph (1) with a maximum imprisonment of six years and / or a maximum fine of IDR 1,000,000.
