Megawati Hangestri's Future With Red Economy Is Not Certain

JAKARTA - The Indonesian volleyball player, Megawati Hanggetri Pertiwi, has not been able to confirm his future after completing a regular season with the South Korean volleyball club, Redmen.

Megawati's contract extension with the South Korean club is still a puzzle. This will be a hot issue after her big contribution to the team last season.

"The next season I still don't know. It's a secret," Megawati said at a press conference at the Office of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Megawati and Redmen are currently in Indonesia. The full squad of the team is here to play the exhibition match against the Indonesia All Stars.

The match between Redmen against Indonesia All Stars will take place at the Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

The match will be a match marking the opening of Indonesia's highest level volleyball league, the 2024 Proliga. Megawati will defend Redmen in the duel.

"On April 20 (April 2024) I played with Redmen, against my friend's team (Indonesia All Stars)," said Megawati, known as Megatron.

Megawati and Redmen recorded a brilliant achievement last season. They managed to penetrate the semifinals of the South Korean Volleyball playoffs for the first time in seven years.
