Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture Hopes For The Presence Of Applications For Managing Government Free Homecoming Programs
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy hopes that there will be an integrated application for the free homecoming program.
According to him, this can maximize the use of facilities for free homecoming.
"Yesterday I discussed with the National Police Chief and the Minister of Transportation, there is one weakness now that this free homecoming is that there is no integrated platform or application," said Muhadjir after meeting the Vice President (Wapres) Ma'ruf Amin at the Vice President's Office House, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 17, which was confiscated by Antara.
This needs to be done because previous homecoming participants can register with several free homecoming service providers so that on the day of departure many free homecoming buses are empty of passengers.
For example, the free homecoming participant registered with service provider A, service provider B, and service provider C. However, at the time of departure he chose service provider A so that the other two quotas were not used.
"So, each of these free homecoming organizers registers individually. Then there are strong indications, that person can register in several places because he registered in several places, when leaving, many vehicles were empty," said Muhadjir.
For this reason, he has also submitted a proposal for the application to the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo so that no more homecoming participants register more than one place.
"I have conveyed to the National Police Chief that there is an integrated application so that we can know that person is listed anywhere so that later there will be no more people who register more than one place so that the use of facilities for free homecoming can be used optimally," said Muhadjir.

It is known, Muhadjir reported to the Vice President regarding the handling of the Lebaran 2024 homecoming period.
"Earlier I reported that this year's homecoming was based on the results of a temporary evaluation by the relevant ministries and institutions including the National Police and the TNI, the handling was quite good but of course it is up to us to evaluate the community later, but we have conducted an internal evaluation," said Muhadjir.
According to him, in several ways there have been improvements compared to the Lebaran 2023 homecoming period, such as the number of accidents having decreased.
"Then from the victim, the victim who died also dropped, the injured victim also dropped and then also from the report from the Director of Jasa Raharja, the compensation issued compared to last year also decreased by around 52," he said.
Nevertheless, he admitted that he was concerned because there were still accidents that occurred during that period. He mentioned two accidents that attracted attention, namely the contraflow of KM 58 of the Jakarta-Cikampek and bus toll roads overturned at KM 370 of the Semarang-Batang toll road.
"Of course this is a very good thing, although there are indeed several events that we are very concerned about, there is no need to do this, namely the collision in the KM 58 contraflow which caused 12 people in one vehicle to die. Then the second incident was the bus that rolled over, in the Batang area, Central Java. That's all the events are quite prominent," he said.
