Terigu Producer Complains Of Fortikian Menipis Premiks Stock, Ministry Of Trade Revised Permendag 36/2023
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) said that it was following up on the proposal of the Indonesian Terangu Flour Producers Association (Aptindo) to issue a premise fortification or flour auxiliary material from the prohibition and restriction regulations (laltas) on the import of goods in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Permendag) Number 36 of 2023.
Director of Imports of the Ministry of Trade, Arif Sulistiyo, said that his party had received a letter from Aptindo regarding the depletion of the premics of fortification for the national team industry because it was affected by changes in import regulations.
"In principle, we agree and we follow up on the proposal. Later we will include it in the revision of Permendag 36, we are currently drafting a revision of Permendag 36 of 2023," said Arif, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, April 17.
Arif said, in accordance with the results of a limited coordination meeting at the Ministerial Level for Economic Affairs which was held on Tuesday, April 16, it was decided to evaluate the rules for limiting the import of goods in Permendag 36/2023 concerning Import Policy and Regulation as amended by the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 03 of 2024.
In addition to evaluating the import restriction on goods, the meeting also decided to revise the rules for importing goods sent by Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and passenger personal goods.
Arif emphasized that the limited meeting did not revoke Permendag 36/2023, but only revised or changed the three points.
Regarding the Fortification Premiks, Arif said that commodities with the code HS Code 2106.90.73 were also included in the revision.
"So it's not revoking but revising or changing," said Arif.
It is known, the Indonesian Teralung Flour Producers Association (Aptindo) said that the availability of fortification premiums for the needs of the national team industry is running low so that it can result in the scarcity of wheat flour.
General Chairperson of Aptindo Franciscus Welirang said the availability of fortification premises from each member of the national team industry was only until June 2024. According to Franciscus, this will have an impact on the supply of national flour.
Fortification premiums have been obtained by players in the flour industry through domestic distributors.
However, because there was a change in the import rules in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Permendag) Number 36 of 2023, this was affected by the procurement of fortification premiums.

Franciscus said Aptindo was still waiting for directions from the Government, in this case the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Trade.
He hopes that he can immediately get a decision from the relevant Ministry, because the production of national flour must continue and must not violate SNI in order to protect consumers.
