Today, Jokowi Meets Apple CEO Tim Cook At The State Palace
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to meet with Apple's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tim Cook, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday 16 April. The Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo), Budi Arie Setiadi, confirmed the agenda.
"CEO Apple Tim Cook will be received by President Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace at 09.30 WIB," said Budie Arie in a brief statement, Tuesday, April 16.
This meeting will discuss Apple's investment potential in Indonesia, which is considered a strategic step for the advancement of global technology. This meeting is an opportunity for Indonesia to become an integral part of the global technology ecosystem.
"Details on discussions will be announced after tomorrow's meeting. This is a good opportunity for Indonesia because we play an important role in the technology ecosystem," he added.
Previously, the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita had expressed her hopes for potential investment from the visit of the CEO of Apple to Indonesia.
"We have communicated with Apple for a long time. There are policies that we issue, including the policy of balancing the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) for Apple products," he explained.

"Apple has set up three and will soon open the fourth Apple Academy. In my opinion, the output of this program is very good in producing quality human resources and application innovations that can be applied in other companies," he said.
