Coordinating Minister For Political, Legal And Security Affairs Asks Kopassus To Improve Soldier Professionalism
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto asked the Special Forces Command (Kopassus) to further improve the professionalism of soldiers at the age of 72 years.
"At an increasingly mature age, continue to improve the professionalism of command soldiers by practicing, practicing and practicing," said Hadi when saying happy birthday to Kopassus, the 72nd in a video uploaded to the Instagram account @hadi.tjhajanto, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 16.
According to Hadi, who also served as TNI Commander, Kopassus has made many achievements and successfully completed important state missions.
It is also considered that Kopassus has succeeded in becoming one of the silent troops that is respected in the eyes of the world. Therefore, he hopes that the achievement in completing the mission perfectly will continue to be cultivated by Kopassus.
Hadi also reminded the Kopassus ranks to always give their best in maintaining the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.
"Happy 72nd birthday to all Kopassus soldiers and extended families wherever they are and on duty. Make it clear that your advantage is your safety. Dare, correct and successful, Command," Hadi said closing his congratulations in the video.
Today (16/4) is the birthday of Kopassus, precisely in 1952. The formation of Kopassus stems from an insurgency incident carried out by a group called the South Maluku Republic (RMS) in 1950.

The group was also successfully crushed by troops deployed by the Commander of the Teratorium III Colonel AE Kawilarang. However, the operation to crush RMS took quite a number of victims from the TNI.
In fact, RMS itself has a much smaller military power than the TNI. This is what makes the TNI aware that qualified individual strategies, tactics and expertise are important to carry out effective and efficient attacks.
It was this event that inspired Lt. Col. Slamet Riyadi to form special forces with high combat tactics and personnel with above-average capabilities.
This idea was also welcomed by Colonel AE Kawilarang so that the Teratorium III Command Unit was formed on April 16, 1952, which became the forerunner of Kopassus.
