KPU Believes 2024 Election Results Will Not Change

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Legal Division of the General Election Commission (KPU) Idham Holik believes that the results of the 2024 General Elections that have been determined by KPU Decree Number 360 of 2024 will not change.

According to Idham, the implementation of the 2024 General Election, which includes the collection, calculation, recapitulation, and determination of vote count results, has been carried out in accordance with statutory regulations, especially Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.

"We firmly believe that the election results that we put forward in KPU Decree Number 360 of 2024 will still apply," said Idham as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 16.

The KPU is optimistic that all petitioners in the 2024 Presidential Election Result Dispute (PHPU) case will not change the KPU's decision.

Idham invites all parties to wait for the reading of the Constitutional Court's decision on the 2024 presidential election PHPU which will be read out by the panel of judges on April 22, 2024.

In the conclusion of the PHPU submitted to the Constitutional Court, the KPU requested that the Constitutional Court be able to submit a decision stating that the applicant's application could not be accepted and rejected the applicant's application in its entirety.

The PHPU applicants for the 2024 presidential election consisting of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar Legal Team and the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md Legal Team previously submitted several applications to the Constitutional Court in their petitum.

Among other things, asking the Constitutional Court to cancel KPU Decree Number 360 of 2024 concerning the Results of the 2024 Election Determination and to disqualify Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the pair of candidates for the 2024 presidential election.

In addition, there were also other requests, both from the Anies-Muhaimin Legal Team and the Ganjar-Mahfud Legal Team, who asked the Constitutional Court to order the KPU to re-vote for the 2024 presidential election.

On Tuesday, April 16, the submission of the PHPU conclusion for the 2024 presidential election from related parties has been completed. After the series of hearings and the conclusion of the 2024 presidential election PHPU is completed, the Constitutional Court will read out the decision of the 2024 presidential election PHPU session on Monday (22/4).
