Shell Will Close 9 Gas Stations In Medan

JAKARTA - Vice President of Corporate Relations of Shell Indonesia Susi Hutapea revealed that her company will stop operating activities at 9 gas stations in Medan, North Sumatra.

In his statement, Susi reasoned, this is in line with Shell's strategy globally to create more value with lower emissions or more value with less emissions through the development of low-carbon energy solutions and focusing on discipline, simplification and business performance.

"Shell will stop operating 9 (nine) gas stations in Medan, North Sumatra," he told VOI, Tuesday, April 16.

Until now, Shell is known to sell several of its products in Medan, including Shell Super, Shell V-Power, and Shell Diesel Extra.

In his statement, Susi also said that Indonesia is the main growth market for the Shell lubricant business.

"In the lubricant sector, in March 2024, we started the construction of a Fat Manufacturing Plant in Marunda with a total capacity of 12 kilotons per year," he continued.

In November 2022, Susi said that her pih will double the capacity of the Shell lubricant factory in Marunda (Lubricants Oil Blending Plant) to 300 million liters per year.

"In 2023, we introduce an immersion cooling fluid (immersion cooling fluid) product to support the data center industry in Indonesia which is experiencing growth," he said.
