Elkan Baggot Takes Advantage Of His Higher Body To Score Goals For Bristol Rovers

JAKARTA - Indonesian national team player Elkan Baggot starred in the Bristol Rovers victory. In the continuation of League One, Elkan Baggot contributed one of Cheltenham's winning goals at Whaddon Road, Saturday, April 13.

This match felt perfect for Elkan Baggot because he immediately won the trust of Matt Taylor to appear full against his former team after he returned from a calf injury which ruled him out four games with Bristol.

Elkan's goal came from a corner kick that Harvey Vale took in the 77th minute. Elkan, who took advantage of his height neatly, greeted Vale's pass with his hard header that Cheltenham goalkeeper Luke Southwood failed to block.

Elkan's goal was Bristol's last goal after two other goalscorers, Scott Sinclair (12') and Brandon Aguilera (56') listed his name on the scoreboard.

From Cheltenham, Liam Sercombe's goal in the final minute (90+4') scored a consolation goal for the home team.

In addition to scoring one goal, marking his tenth appearance with Bristol, in this match the 21-year-old centre-back recorded five sweeps, one blocked shot, two intercepts, one tackle, 50 touches, 31 passes with 32 percent accuracy, and one key pass.

Not only that, Elkan also recorded one long-lasting pass from nine chances, four ground duels wins from five chances, six aerial duels from seven chances, one shot off target, one shot against the post, and one big goal opportunity wasted, Sofascore noted on Saturday.

The victory that ended the club's winning drought from the last seven matches put Bristol in 15th place in the standings with 54 points from 43 matches.

Bristol will again compete in League One against Cambridge United at the Memorial Stadium on Wednesday (17/4) at 01.45 WIB.
