In The Last 2 Months, Six Residents Of Lebak Banten Died Of Dengue Fever
RANGKASBITUNG - As many as six residents of Lebak Regency, Banten Province, reportedly died due to the spread of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in the area. "We ask residents to remain aware of the spread of dengue cases in connection with uncertain rainfall, sometimes hot temperatures, also sometimes rain, so that there is a potential for the breeding of the Aedes aegypti mosquito population," said the Daily Executive Head of the Lebak District Health Service (Dinkes) Budi Mulyanto as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, April 13. The spread of dengue fever in Lebak Regency to date continues to grow. On March 19, 2024 there were 1,184 cases of dengue fever, however, April 12, 2024 reached 1,327 cases and deaths reported by six people. He was worried that with the current weather conditions the case of DBD was increasing, so he was advised to prevent the spread of the deadly disease. "We hope that the community can maintain the cleanliness of the environment, as well as the Clean and Healthy Life Behavior (PHBS)," he said. In addition, he continued, intensifying Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) activities with 3M ( Fertilizing, Draining, and Closing used goods), as well as disbursing larvae powders in the bath where there were puddles of water in the neighborhood of the house. So far, he said, PSN activities with 3M were considered more effective in breaking the chain of distribution of dengue cases. "When carried out PSN, the aedes mosquito larvae die and do not transmit dengue cases to others," said Budi.
