Dozens Of People Fell From The Leuwi Suspension Bridge Ipuh Lebak Banten
JAKARTA - As many as 15 residents of Leuwi Ipuh Village, Banjarsari District, Lebak Regency, Banten fell from the top of the suspension bridge which was crossed by the local community after the bridge celling wire was cut off.
"Luckily, this incident did not cause any casualties, but 10 people were injured and five people were hanging over the bridge," said Banjarsari sub-district head Mahfud Basyir as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 12.
Those who were injured because the suspension bridge was cut off under treatment at the local health center.
The incident occurred on Wednesday (10/4) at 10.00 WIB. A total of 15 people who wanted to make a grave pilgrimage crossed the bridge.
The suspension bridge built by residents independently is most likely unable to be crossed by up to 15 people.
In fact, the residents who crossed were playing selfie photos using an Android cellphone.
"We believe the 100 meter long bridge with a width of 1 meter and a height of 15 meters, apart from being fragile, cannot be crossed by many people," said the sub-district head.

According to him, currently local people after the suspension bridge were cut off, they were forced to cross using a bamboo raft.
People who cross the suspension bridge, he said, are quite a lot to support the economy, education, and health. Moreover, the location of the suspension bridge is located in the interior of Lebak Regency.
He hopes that local governments, provinces, and central governments can rebuild the bridge.
"We have reported the incident of the broken bridge to the Acting Regent of Lebak in order to get attention," he explained.
