Eid Al-Fitr 1445 H In Malaysia Celebrated On April 10, 2024

JAKARTA - Muslims throughout Malaysia will welcome Eid al-Fitr on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the government said via live broadcast of local television which was followed in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.

"... I declare that the date of the holiday... for states throughout Malaysia is Wednesday, April 10, 2024," said the Great Stickkeeper of the Kings Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad.

The statement, said Syed, was delivered "in order to perfect the order of the His Majesty's Order which was signed by Pertuan Agong, after being approved by His Majesty the Kings".

The determination of the 2024 Eid al-Fitr date was taken after lunar observation was carried out in 29 locations across the country on Tuesday evening.

On a different occasion, Malaysia's King Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim congratulated the Islamic people of Malaysia.

"I took this opportunity to call on all levels of society, regardless of race and religion, to celebrate this Syawal with the practice of mutual pilgrimage to strengthen friendship and community unity," Raja said through his account on social media as reported by Antara.

He advised the public to take advantage of the momentum of the holiday to forgive each other, especially between family members, relatives, and friends.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Anwar Ibrahim also congratulated all Muslims.

He advised those who traveled to their hometowns to drive carefully and show love to their loved ones.

"Meet and apologize. We all made mistakes, mistakes," said Anwar directly on social media.
