Responding To Accidents On Japek Toll Road, Director General Of Hubdat Shares Safe Tips On Contraflow Lanes
In connection with the accident between the bus and 2 minibuses at the KM 58 + 600 contraflow lane of the Jakarta - Cikampek toll road on Monday, April 8, the Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Hendro Sugiatno conveyed the need for safe tips for travelers who use the contraflow lane, especially on the Trans Java toll road during this Eid transportation period.
As is well known, the contraflow policy on the Trans Java toll road during the Eid transportation period has been stated in the Joint Decree between the Ministry of Transportation, Korlantas Polri and the Ministry of PUPR. The goal is none other than to create a more comfortable and smooth traffic condition for travelers who lead from West to East.
"If the travelers are in the contraflow lane, make sure the condition of the prime vehicle and fuel is fully occupied. If the contraflow lane is more than one lane, make sure the vehicle remains at the far left lane except when it will overtake," said Hendro in a statement to the media, Tuesday, April 9.
Hendro also said that if there was damage to the vehicle, it was recommended to stop at the far left lane and immediately contact the officer's service center to ask for help.
"In addition, make sure the speed of the vehicle is in accordance with what has been determined, do not exceed the speed limit because it will be very dangerous," continued Hendro.

On the other hand, Hendro also appealed to drivers to maintain a safe distance with the vehicle in front of them so that they could anticipate all the possibilities that would occur. Don't get too close and don't go too far.
"Besides the vehicle aspect, what is no less important is the condition of the driver himself. Using the contraflow lane requires preparation such as a fit body condition and full concentration," he explained.
He said drivers whose body condition is not fit or feel tired should not force them to use the contraflow lane.
"Prioritize to rest first in rest areas or rest areas outside the toll road," concluded Hendro.
