Police Implement One Way In The Limbangan-Malangbong Market Area

Garut Resort Police has imposed one direction so that congestion does not occur in the market area as a traffic jam point for the Limbangan-Malangbong national route, Garut Regency, West Java.

Garut Police Traffic Head Iptu Aang Andi Suhandi said, from morning to noon, one-way had been applied by pulling the flow of vehicles from Bandung to Tasikmalaya.

"We are draining from the traffic jam point to Tasikmalaya so that the flow of vehicles continues to move," said Aang as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 8.

He said the one-way system was implemented situationally when there was a density at one point such as a market area along the national route starting from Limbangan-Malangbong to the Tasikmalaya border.

The areas prone to traffic jams are in the Limbangan area where there are markets and road intersections so that they are carried out in one direction from Bandung for 40 minutes from 07.10 to 07.50 WIB.

Furthermore, the point prone to traffic jams in the Lewo area is the same as market activity by imposing one direction from Bandung for 20 minutes from 07.30 to 07.50 WIB.

The Lewo area was again carried out in one direction for 20 minutes from 11.00 to 11.20 WIB, then continued in one direction with the same duration of 20 minutes at 11.30 to 11.50 WIB.

Furthermore, at points prone to traffic jams in the Malangbong area, two times one direction is applied from Bandung to Tasikmalaya for 25 minutes from 08.10 to 08.35. The next one direction is valid for 30 minutes from 11.00 to 11.30 WIB.

"This way of acting 'one way' is effective in unraveling the density of vehicles from Limbangan to Tasikmalaya," he said.

The Limbangan-Malangbong route is an area that is a priority for security because of the national route that connects Bandung with other areas in the eastern region.

The route from Bandung to Tasikmalaya across Garut began to increase the flow of vehicles on April 5, 2024, as many as 126,545 vehicles. Furthermore, April 6, 2024, there were 147,653 vehicles recorded.

The volume of vehicles on the route every day was recorded to increase, on April 7, 2024, there were 281,424 two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles recorded.

According to Aang, the flow of vehicles often increases on night trips, then in the early hours of the morning and morning, while in the afternoon before the evening it tends to decrease.

"Many trips at night, mostly motorbikes are dominant," said Aang.
