Malaysia Supports UN Human Rights Council On Calls To Stop Selling Weapons To Israel
JAKARTA - Malaysia calls for support so that all countries stop selling weapons to the country of Israel. This is so that Israel fulfills its obligations under international law.
Malaysian Foreign Ministry Wisma Putra said the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) had passed a resolution calling on all countries to stop the sale, transfer and diversion of weapons, bullets and military equipment to Israel.
Citing Antara, the resolution also called for an immediate ceasefire, condemning the use of hunger as a rule of war by Israel in Gaza, and warning against all large-scale military operations by Israel in Rafah.
Resolutions titled Human rights situation in Palestinian occupied territories, including East Jerusalem, and bonds to ensure accountability and justice' were approved on Friday in the 55th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The resolution, according to the statement, has been submitted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and sponsored and supported by Malaysia.

Wisma Putra said the acceptance of the resolution was in line with Malaysia's demands that UNHRC fulfill its responsibilities under the UN Charter to protect Palestinians from prolonged population, apartheid basis, and human rights violations, including crimes against humanity, murder and war crimes committed by Israel.
Malaysia, according to Wisma Putra, is determined to fight for the Palestinian issue and will continue to strive towards the formation of a country, namely an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on the 1967 border, with East Baitul Maqdis as the nation's capital.
In addition, efforts for Palestine to be accepted as a full member of the United Nations.
