Cirebon Police Prepare Alternative Paths To Anticipate One Way Toll Vehicle Buildup

CIREBON - Cirebon City Resort Police (Polres), West Java, is preparing to divert traffic flow from arterial routes to alternative routes to anticipate a buildup of vehicles when a system of one is implemented on toll roads.

The head of the Cirebon City Police Traffic Unit, AKP Ngadiman, said that the vehicle diversion was situational or carried out when the north coast (Pantura) in Cirebon City could not accommodate a surge in vehicles traveling to Jakarta.

"To anticipate in the arterial route if a one way is carried out, of course the vehicle to Jakarta will be diverted to the arteries. When the volume is dense, we prepare alternative routes," Ngadiman said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 5.

He conveyed that the alternative routes that the travelers could pass were on the route from the Kalijaga Roundabout, towards the Mount Jati Cirebon area.

According to him, this alternative route can also be an option to support the mobility of the local community so that it is not hampered during the 2024 Eid homecoming and return flow.

When crossing the route, motorists can avoid several points prone to traffic jams and this route will take them to the Indramayu area which is connected to the northern coast road.

Ngadiman ensured that this alternative route could be used by motorcyclists from Jakarta to Java, who wanted to pass on the road with minimal obstacles.

"In Cirebon City there is an alternative route, namely from the Kalijaga Roundabout to the Gunung Jati area and it can penetrate Indramayu. If there is a density we will transfer it there," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding one way on the toll road, Kasatlantas said that so far his party was still waiting for a notification and direction from the Korlantas Polri.

Ngadiman emphasized that he would immediately follow up if the traffic engineering was actually applied to the Palikanci toll road.

We are taking a way of acting in the form of placing a team of urai in the arteries to overcome the density after one way. Usually we collaborate and coordinate with related areas at the border. So traffic engineering can run effectively," he said.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Transportation Service, as of 22.00 WIB, Thursday (4/4), the number of vehicles passing through the Cirebon City arterial route and identified as travelers reached 15,823 vehicles.

Of these, two-wheeled vehicles dominate with a total of 9,239 vehicles. While the rest are private cars and public transportation.
