SoundCloud Appoints Former Spotify Employees As SVP And New Head Of Communications

JAKARTA - SoundCloud, a leading music platform, has appointed Marni Greenberg as SVP and the new Head of Communications.

The announcement was made directly by Eliah Seton, CEO of SoundCloud, through an official statement shared on the platform's official website, quoted Friday, April 5.

With this new position, Greenberg will be responsible for all SoundCloud global communications including external media relations, internal communications, brand marketing, social media, and executive communications for Seton and SoundCloud management team.

"It is very important for SoundCloud to tell our story and Marini has the deep public relations experience needed in the fields of music, technology and brands to bring our communications," wrote the CEO.

Prior to SoundCloud, Greenberg served as Vice President of Communication at Sofar Sounds, tasked with improving the company's public profile and making Sofar a leader in connecting audiences and artists through live music experiences and artist services.

Prior to Sofar Sounds, he was the Head of Communication on YouTube Music, where he oversees a team that encourages corporate communication campaigns, products, consumers, and artists to raise brand awareness and change public reputation.

And before joining YouTube, he even served as Head of Product Communication and Partnership on Spotify.

While working on Spotify, it was he who launched the leading Spotify Discover Weekly playlist, pushed for a campaign of partners with various companies including Uber and Starbucks, and manages think leadership initiatives for Spotify's executive team.

"The SoundCloud mission to empower artists while giving music fans a place to know what will happen next in music is in line with me," Greenberg said.
