International Flights At Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Experience An Increase Of 8.29 Percent

International flight activities that came, departed and transited at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar (SHIAM) International Airport in February 2024 were 31,569 people or or experienced an 8.29 percent increase from the previous month.

Head of BPS Sulsel Aryanto in Makassar said that when comparing the number of 31,569 passengers in February 2024 with 29,152 passengers in January 2024, there had been an increase of 8.29 percent month to month (mtm).

"The increase is quite good at around 8.29 percent. However, when comparing it with the same period in the previous year or year on year (yoy) it decreased minus 17.62 percent," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 4.

Aryanto said that the number of international passengers arriving and transiting in February 2024 was 15,390 people compared to 13,821 people, resulting in an increase of around minus 11.35 percent.

He detailed that there were 15,390 passengers departing from SHIAM to various countries and 16,178 people arriving in Makassar, South Sulawesi. The total for international passengers is 31,569 people.

"In February, 15,390 people were compared to 16,178 or experienced an increase of 5.52 percent. Meanwhile, 15,390 people came in February compared to 13,821, an increase of 11.35 percent. This is an increase month to month," he said.

Meanwhile, for domestic flights, the number of passengers arriving (arrivals) in February 2024 was 310,770 people or decreased by 13.41 percent when compared to the number in January 2024 as many as 338,885 people.

"Overall, the number of domestic passengers arriving and departing and transiting in February 2024 was 693,372 people compared to 747,624 people or a decrease of around 14.48 percent," he said.
