Mahfud Regarding Todung Wants Jokowi-Kapolri To Be Presented At The Constitutional Court Session: It's Up To The Judge

JAKARTA - Vice Presidential Candidate Mahfud MD has fully handed over to the judges regarding the proposal of President Joko Widodo and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to be presented at the General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) trial at the Constitutional Court (MK).

"Yes, it's up to the judge. Later, if the judge considers the urgency, and what relevance is, it's the judge," Mahfud was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 3.

Mahfud said he had given power of attorney to his attorney. Therefore, he will focus on seeing the proceedings of the trial.

"Anyway, every legal representative has received full power to declare, to ask the court for anything, so I don't have to know what was requested. Later ask what my attorney is, then the judge who is considering is granted or not," he explained.

Previously, the Deputy for Law for the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar-Mahfud, Todung Mulya Lubis, revealed that his party proposed the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to provide information at the 2024 presidential election PHPU case trial.

"We ask the Chairman of the Assembly to present the National Police Chief at the next trial," said Todung.

He said that his party had sent a letter to the Constitutional Court regarding the request.

The reason for submitting the name of the National Police Chief, because according to his party there were many alleged violations committed by the police.

In addition, Todung considered that it would be ideal if President Jokowi was presented at the Constitutional Court to provide information.

"President Jokowi is the head of government. If the President can indeed be brought in by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, it will be ideal because it is the responsibility of managing social assistance funds (bansos) in the end to the President," said Todung.

Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that he was ready to provide information at the 2024 presidential election PHPU case hearing, if requested by the Constitutional Court.

"Alhamdulillah, if the Constitutional Court Judge invites him with pleasure, we will attend," said Sigit when met after breaking the fast with the TNI-Polri at Bhayangkara Field, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/4) night.

The National Police Chief said his presence was a form of citizen who was obedient and obedient to the laws and regulations.
