Minister Basuki Ensures Pantura Road Has Returned To Normal After Damaged Due To Floods
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono ensured that North Coast or Pantura Street had returned to normal now. Jalan Pantura was damaged by the floods that occurred in Demak, Central Java.
"(The Pantura road was damaged) between Demak in Karanganyar due to flooding in February-March along 1.8 kilometers (km). (There are) 4 lanes of Semarang-Demak Street, God willing, we will be able to complete the repairs today," said Basuki at the 2024 Homecoming Preparation Working Meeting with Commission V DPR RI at the Senayan Parliament Building, Jakarta, quoted Wednesday, April 3.
"It can be passed normally again," he continued.
The Ministry of PUPR is known to have cleaned the road from the garbage left over from the flood some time ago.
There is also cleaning of damaged asphalt, repairing holes and coating roads with new asphalt or overlay.
Basuki emphasized that his party continues to ensure the readiness of national roads for the 2024 Eid homecoming.
To date, the total length of national roads in Indonesia has reached 47,600 km.

However, the road was eroded by the Demak flood on Wednesday, March 13. The accident occurred after six embankments collapsed due to heavy rains.
As a result, the national road was paralyzed due to being inundated with a height of more than 1.5 meters (m).
