The SAR Team For The Evacuation Of Residents Who Were Bitten By Komodo Dragons On Rinca Island
LABUAN BAJO - The Joint SAR Team evacuated a resident of Komodo Island, Komodo Village, Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) who was bitten by a Komodo dragon.
"The victim was bitten by a Komodo animal around the Loh Ginggo area of Rinca Island, Komodo National Park (TNK)," said Head of Basarnas Maumere Supriyanto Ridwan as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 2.
He explained that the victim, Romansyah (39) was bitten by a Komodo animal while looking for honey at the scene.
The SAR team received information about the incident from the staff of the West Manggarai Police and Air Unit (Satpolairud).
"We have deployed a Joint SAR Team to the scene of the incident to carry out SAR operations using an RIB (Rigit Inflatable Boat) of the West Manggarai SAR Post equipped with an emergency kit and a stretcher," he said.

The SAR team who arrived at the scene immediately evacuated the victim who was in a mandate belonging to the Komodo National Park Center (BTNK) to the RIB West Manggarai SAR Post and took the victim to Labuan Bajo.
"The victim's condition was weak and there were wounds from a Komodo bite on the victim's arm and leg," he said.
"After arriving at Marina Labuan Bajo Port, he said, the victim was immediately evacuated using an ambulance to the hospital for further medical treatment," he said.
