Russian Bombing Plane Performs Exercise Flights Over Japan's Sea Waters

Russia said two Tu-95MS strategic bombers carried out training flights over Japan's marine neutral waters.

The Su-30SM fighter jet accompanied the two bombers to provide protection, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Tuesday, April 2.

The flight lasted about 10 hours and was carried out "according to international regulations regarding the use of airspace," he said.

The ministry emphasizes long-range flight pilots regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black Sea and Baltic, and Pacific Ocean.

The Tu-95MS strategic missile-carrying bomber is part of the Russian Air Force's long-range flight and air components of the nuclear triad consisting of aircraft, submarines, and intercontinental ballistic missiles.
