MK Sends Summons To 4 Minister Jokowi

JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) has sent a summons to four ministers of President Joko Widodo to be heard in his statement at the General Election Results Presence (PHPU) trial. The letter was sent today.

"It has been (submitted a summons), today," said the spokesman for the Constitutional Court, Fajar Laksono when confirmed, Tuesday, April 2.

The four ministers who will be presented are Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy; Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani; and Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini.

Not only that, the court also agreed to present the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP). They will be heard

At the previous trial, the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Suhartoyo emphasized that the decision to summon these parties did not mean that the court accommodated the petitioners. However, it is only for the benefit of the trial.

Originally, the Anies-Cak Imin and Ganjar-Mahfud camps had asked Mahkmah to present several ministers to explore allegations of politicization of social assistance (bansos).

"This is solely for the benefit of the judges. In simple language, we reject the petitioners' petition, but we take a separate stance because the positions of the judges choosing these parties are seen as important to hear at trial," Suhartoyo explained.
